2016 was a little tumultuous and the archive suffered for it, hence being 4 months behind and just finishing getting all of 2016 logged
My show numbers took a big hit, being the lowest show count for me since 2010. Hard times were hit mid-summer and a competitive pace with the previous year was brought to screeching halt. Wasn't until early winter that some familiar show habits started to gain some traction before the typical slowness of the year's end holidays. Bringing 2016 to a close with 154 shows.
Despite the smaller show count, I feel the number of unique bands/performers was still strongly represented at 354. A large number of bands were only seen once or twice, in fact no non-"Boston" band was seen more than twice. The band I saw the most had a busy year: second place Rumble finish, released a new vinyl EP, a couple tours outside of the New England area and a couple opening slots on the mini Letters To Cleo tour. So congratulations to Weakened Friends for surpassing When Particles Collide as the band that's most sick of me.
Below is a table breaking down the other bands I saw a lot.
